Well, it looks like we are in Fallon, NV for another night. We took the Starter to Fallon Auto Mall which is the local Jeep Dealership (www.fallonautomall.com) and although they are not set up to rebuild our starter, Brett and Floi were kind enough to make some calls and provide transportation to WT Battery & Electric.  The bushing and wires are trashed and since they don't have the parts in stock they need to source them from Reno. If things go well we will be back in business by 4:00 pm today. Rather than heading out at that time we have decided to give our old bodies a rest and get caught up on some work stuff. I have to admit that neither of us are crushed that we will not be in the Jeep for the next 19 hours or so.

1:00 pm we walked down the street to grab some lunch and on the way passed by a small Casino that has slot machines.  We each invested $20.00 in hopes of winning some gas money...looks like we will be making a sign for gas money like the hippies did!

3:30 pm we got the starter back from WT Battery & Electric and Shamo was even kind enough to deliver it right to our hotel room.

Vance was taking off the bolts so that we could get our newly rebuilt starter installed and he managed to drop the washer into the small opening of the bell housing where the starter bolts on.  Will took the tools away from Vance, fished out the washer, bolted on the starter and just like that we are back in business.

5:30 pm we walked down to Main street and went out for dinner at 1 of the 3 Mexican restaurants.  It was pretty nasty and we wished that we had saved our energy and walked across the street to the Taco Bell.

Our plan is to get up early tomorrow and try to get to Placerville, CA which is around 150 miles from Fallon, NV.

TOTAL MILES TRAVELED TODAY:  0 miles

Not only did we survive the infamous highway 50, we did it in a 1948 Willys!

Unfortunately, 98 of them are not in walking distance.

Putting the starter back in...and she fired right up.
