1992 Jeep Wrangler Restoration - Page 2

We have a BDS 1" shackle lift that we will be installing as well as a BDS 2" suspension lift complete with new shocks and hardware needed to do the job.

While the front end was apart we inspected and decided the brakes and rotors were in need of being replaced. After those were installed the front end was ready to go back together with the exception of needing new wheels and tires. We opted for a good all around radial tire and went with Big O's "Big Foot" tire mounted on a chromed aluminum Ultra 17" wheel. Everything underneath was cleaned and painted up to give it a nice clean uniform look to match all the new parts.

Now we are ready to move to the back.
With everything around it getting attention we thought it would be a good idea to pull the fuel tank out and flush it as well as paint it to match the fresh look of the new suspension system.

After the tank was cleaned and painted it was reinstalled, while the tank was drying we accessed the frame to clean and paint it as well. Then the new springs and shocks were installed.

We inspected the brakes and again decided to replace the rear drums and shoes with new. With that done we were ready to put the rear wheels and tires on.

Now all we need to do to complete the job is install the transfer case lowering kit. It consists of new bolts and washers that mount the also included spacers that fit between the frame and the skid plate. That completes the suspension and undercarriage portion of this project.
