It is extremely difficult to capture the life story of an 85 year old, it is even tougher to do so with a decorated War Veteran.  The following is a very brief summary of Nick Fallier...

Flying a fighter plane in war had been a dream of Nick's ever since he was 5 years old.  The 85-year-old Tallahassee native reached his goal as a pilot in the U.S. Army during World War II where he served in the Army for a total of 12 years.  Between January 1944 and August 1945 he flew 129 combat missions in P-47 Thunderbolts over the southwest Pacific Ocean.  Nick went on to become a captain for the 39th Fighter Squadron stationed in the Southwest Pacific and was nicknamed "The Captain of the Clouds".  After the war, Nick spent four years (1948-1952) as Tallahassee's assistant airport manager, when most commercial air travelers were business and government officials due to the high cost of flying back then.  After that he flew as a game warden in FL.
