Model: CJ-8 DescriptionStuff it has: 258 CID six-cylinder engine, 2 barrel; 4-speed, manual transmission; power steering, power disc brakes, front lockers, 20-gallon fuel tank, soft top, hard doors, painted rear step bumper, wood side rails, Draw-Tite tow bar (included) and slide-in Draw-Tite trailer hitch. Description: My wife and I are the only owners of this Scrambler, purchasing the vehicle from a dealer in San Antonio, Texas in February, 1983 (we have the sale sticker, original owner manuals, etc.). Since then this Scrambler has been kept in a garage in San Antonio. There is no rust. It has primarily been used as a third vehicle and, of course, on weekends and for occasional trips and for outdoor fun. In March, 1999 the engine was removed and completely overhauled by a certified mechanic. In July, 2002 the Scrambler was repainted and refurbished, including a new top. The seat covers, carpet, etc. are all original. This vehicle has been consistently well-maintained over the years by one of San Antonio’s premier auto mechanics. At some point the odometer broke and was not repaired until the engine was overhauled. I would guess the actual miles are somewhere around 200,000. The vehicle has been driven regularly over the years, but it has not been driven a lot. Most of the miles are highway miles and around town. We have towed it some but not a lot. |
