| JEEP JAMBOREE 2010 ROAD TRIP... | |
|
Whether you enjoy the mountains, the coasts with the various beaches from one side of the country to the other or even if the large metropolitan cities are your thing there are plenty of ways to get to several of them on any road trip. This year our travels took us through all of the above mentioned destinations from the beaches in Monterey and San Francisco California, over the Rocky Mountains in Colorado north into Canada and through cities like Louisville, Cincinnati, Denver and many others that are vacation destinations in themselves. The beauty of the roads trips we get to take is that we not only get to check out all of these cool places but in addition to that we get to take in some of the country’s best wheeling. It is truly amazing the beauty this country has but the fact that we are still able to access much of it to get out and wheel and play in. With the closures of more and more public land it so important to take advantage of what we do still have available and show the powers that be that there are more responsible off-roaders out there than the small group of “sasquatch wheelers” that go out and purposely tear things up in the name of fun. There are so many places around the country that have mentionable areas to wheel that normally wouldn’t come to mind. Naturally we think about Moab, The Rubicon Trail, Ouray Colorado but it’s where we don’t expect that has some outstanding spots to go wheeling. The Cumberland Gap in Kentucky and Tennessee border, Hot Springs Arkansas has the Superlift Off Road Park, Wyoming has the Big Horns and the Tetons, The Black Hills in South Dakota as well as The Maine Mountains are all great places with some fantastic wheeling. The moral of the story is that you don’t have to set your sights on a cruise or a vacation to another country to get memories that will last a lifetime. There is so much to see around this country that I strongly encourage people to get back to the basics for family time and get out and see the country in a vehicle on a road trip… better yet, go out and see it in a Jeep and I’ll hope to see you out there!! |
