I have a 1977 CJ5 that has a Dana 30 front end with disk brakes out of a 1979 CJ. I have replaced all ball joints, bearings, rotors, calipers, tie rod ends, front end alignment, dual steering stabilizer and I still have wandering issues. It does not have a sway bar. Also have new Borgeson Steering shaft and new bearings in the column. Is there something I have missed or still need to do to stop the wandering?

I have a 1990 jeep cherokee two door with a 4.0 liter 6 cylinder. I have a few questions about it. First I have a head from we think a 1992 4.0 H.O. it might be a 1993, will that head bolt onto my 1990? and if so can I use the same pushrods from my 90? Also how do I tell what kinda axles it has underneath of it? under the cover for the front axle it say's dana. I am going to put in a suspension lift I see they are for xj cherokee, is my two door different or will these kits work?

I have a 06 Rubican and when I reach the speed of 50mph the steering wheel begins to shake. I've replaced the shocks, I've replaced the tires and have even balanced the wheels several times. Do you know what could be causing this shaking? I think the Jeep is to new for the ball joints to have gone bad so I am baffled.

I have a 1979 CJ-7 with a factory hard top and full steel doors, the top is in good shape, some rust on rear window on the bottom, doors each have cracks in them and the rubber on the doors is no good, what is this worth? I want to put a soft top on instead of the hard top but am unsure what to ask for it, any ideas?

I have 1986 jeep Cherokee pioneer with a 2.8. I had three people helping me swap out an engine and now I'm the only one putting it back together. I have it almost done but I'm having a problem with the vacuum hoses from the transfer case to the engine. The vacuum hoses operate the 2 wheel to the 4 wheel selector. If any one could help I would be thankful and be able to my jeep back on the road.

I am repairing a 94 wrangler that was bought partially dismanteled. I have cleaned and painted the gasoline tank & shield. I have it ready to be replaced in the stock location. In looking for the electrical connection ( for the gage and pump ) I cannot find where it is plugs into the harness. ( I have the short lead on the tank ) Is this connection part of the rear wiring harness or a seperate run ? Thanks jr

Hi I have a 1982 cj7 and would like to do a total resto! I have the interior out. What would be the next part to dismantle! What would you recommend for a shock that is good on road and off road? How will i be able to tell if i need knew leaf springs? how do I take the body off to properly prep the chasis and the underneatth of the body? Any advice would be great! I have 33's on my '85 Cj-7 with no Lift, I think. Eerything has been repainted underneath, so I can't tell. I know its not a spring over axle lift. I've been told 33's couldn't fit w/o lift. So, I have three questions two ask. 1) How can I actually tell if there is a lift with 33's? 2) If I go with 31*10.5*15 BFG's, can I use the orginal tire carrier? 3) Will my 15*10 rims be allright with 31's or shlould I go with 15*8 rims. I have an 83 CJ8 that I bought with a chevy 258 I-6 that runs well and I would prefer to just keep it in. The transmission I believe is a t-4 as it is a 4-speed and the jeep was originally a 4-cyl. The tranny whines when the clutch is engaged, whether in or out of gear, and gets louder with higher rpms. I would prefer to just swap it with an auto trans, but I don,t know what will bolt up to the chevy 258 and a dana 300 xfer case, or any adapters or kits I may need. Please help!

Is it worth FULLY restoring a 1987 jeep cherokee XJ Pioneer Ed. with Stock D44 and manual tranny? I would like to see if it is rare enough to warrent full "frame-off" restoration. If you get my jeep above 30mph it strats to pull in all directions and when you try to correct it, the smallest turn or movement of the wheel is to much. It's a 1979 CJ5. Thanks, Lee

Im haeving trouble figuring out ho to install the sway bar disconnect links on my 95 XJ. do I have to put the old bushings it had becuaseif I do trhey do not fit. Did Jeep offer factory A/C in a 1970 J2000 pickup. I have a very nice 6cyl that I would like add a/c to. Would the factory a/c from a newer 1980's fit?

Do you by chance have instructions on installing a 2" body lift for a 2003 Wrangler TJ Sport? I looked over the Rubicon description. Great that looks scary. Please tell me mine will be a little easier. I want to understand every part of my jeep, I want to get my hands dirty working on it and know every aspect of it. I know that will take awhile but I do have a head start. I was a daddy's girl raised around racing, so I have a basic comprehension of working on cars. I won't be installing the lift, I will attempt to help, if he'll let me. LOL. But, I do want to know what all is involved so I can know if he's doing it right. I know this site has been around a little while, but i just realized you spelled 'Terre Haute' wrong and Terre Haute isn't just south of indianapolis. it's about 70 miles west and a bit south of Indianapolis. if you unveiled the jeep at red bird i imagine you were in or near the town of Dugger, IN and not terre hate too. I just bought a 1974 jeep renegade (six cylinder) in decent condition but it does need some work. The throotle cable from the accelerator to the carb has a lot of play in it. How do I take out the slack and is this correct? Is it just a cable? Should there be a spring or something to hold tension? Thanks! Les

I AM A PROUD OWNER OF AN '01 CHEROKEE SPORT AND KEEP UP ON IT PRETTY WELL. I KNOW THERE IS AN EXPECTED AMOUNT OF NOISES THAT COME WITH DRIVING A JEEP BUT THERE IS ONE THAT I JUST CANT FIGURE OUT. I DO KNOW THIS: ITS NOT IN THE BRAKES, SUSPENSION, OR DRIVELINE. THE NOISE IN QUESTION IS A RUMBLE/CHATTER/ COMING FROM THE REAR. ONLY NOTICABLE AT A STOP (IN DRIVE OR PARK). GETS LOUDER WHEN ITS COLD OUT. THE NOISE GOES AWAY IF I HOLD RPM JUST ABOVE IDLE. I'M PUZZLED TO SAY THE LEAST. EVERYTHING IS TIGHT AND SECURE UNDERNIETH. I LOOKED FOR EXHAUST HANGERS OR HEAT SHIELDS THAT COULD HAVE COME LOOSE WITH NO RESULTS. I DONT THINK I HAVE THE ONLY CHEROKEE THAT HAS EVER DONE THIS.... EVER HEARD OF THIS SORT OF THING BEFORE? MAYBE SOME T.S.B'S I DONT KNOW OF? I REALLY THANK YOU FOR ANY CLUES YOU COULD GIVE.
