Rocky Mtn. House, Alberta Canada Jamboree 2004... |
|
Located in the eastern foothills of the Rockies, this Jamboree offers a variety of spectacular trails. Mountain climbs, muskeg bogs and forest runs. If you haven't been to this area you will be amazed at the variety and abundance of trails. There are trails for everything from stock Jeep Liberty's to trails that make the Rubicon look like a secondary road. It is like the Disneyland of off-roading with hundreds of miles of trails.
The week prior to the jamboree rained pretty much non-stop so the mud was insane. The temperature warmed up to 30C (86F) which was perfect for some topless mud bogging. We took one of the more advanced trails which had a great variety of rocks, river crossings, hills and good sloppy Canadian mud! On the first day we hit the trails at 8:30 a.m. and didn't get back to camp until 8:00 p.m. The second day we took a slightly easier trail (due to our jeep running very hot the first day) which was a nice break. A bit more of a steady pace (we didn't get stuck once) and some amazing sights and hill climbing. We will absolutely be back next year!
